Spiro and Joanne have made many people on Pleasure Island  fat... or at least happy.  The small brick building that houses  their family restaurant has stood in that capacity for over 50 years.  The Gulf Stream Restaurant has been an integral part of  island life and their livelihood since 1978.   

Serving up local fare to hungry customers has been a tradition they have kept in the family.  Joanna and Spiro's two sons, Dino and Thomas, grew up cleaning off tables, cashing out customers and cooking.  While wait staff come and go in many establishments, at The Gulfstream Restaurant they usually know what you consider "the usual", and they consider and they serve it up with an honest-to-goodness smile that makes you feel right at home. 

All of the food that comes out of Joanna's kitchen has a wholesome quality that cannot be duplicated in chain restaurants. She ensures that everything gets cooked and served to her standards.  Spiro likes it like that too and Joanna won't have it any other way. 

The Gulfstream Restaurant is located on Myrtle Avenue, right across from the Winner Party Boats, at the marina at Carolina Beach, North Carolina.   On any given day, you might find the locals dining at the Gulfstream Restaurant, some, as many as three meals a day.   While dining, you are sure to see a number of your friends or family dining with Spiro and Joanna too.
